National Women's History Month Highlight: Kamala Harris
Kamala Harris is known to many as the first female Vice President of the United States. She is in the middle of her first term as Vice President alongside Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States. Her motto is to do justice for the people, and she has committed to that throughout her life. She was an attorney, activist, and leader in California. She made her way through the ranks to be a senator in 2017 and was chosen as Joe Biden's running mate in 2019. According to the official White House website, Kamala Harris' goals as Vice President are to rebuild the economy, provide safety and security for children, manage the COVID-19 pandemic, reduce voter suppression, and stand up for women and workers. Adopted in 1987, National Women's History Month takes place in March every year.
